Homein Door Company Full Door Warranty

 
Homein warrants all of its doors set forth herein to be of good material and workmanship and to be  free  of defects which would render said doors unserviceable or unfit for their ordinary, recommended use for the designated time period; except as otherwise set forth in this full door warranty.
 
All doors must be inspected prior to installation. Any claims relating to the Homein DOOR WARRANTY must be reported upon discovery and submitted in writing within 30 days. Homein DOOR shall not be liable for any repairs to or replacement of doors without prior written approval. Installation of pre‐ finished doors shall constitute acceptance of the door finish.
 
If a claim for defective merchandise is found to be valid within the meaning of this warranty, Homein will either

  1. repair it or (2) replace with an identical unit, at the option of Homein DOOR. No liability whatsoever shall attach until the door(s) involved have been paid for in full.
 
If any door BECOMES DEFECTIVE AFTER INSTALLATION within the meaning of this warranty and particularly regarding the manufacturer’s provisions as included herein under the paragraph entitled “TOLERANCES”, and after an inspection by an authorized company representative,

CONDITIONS AND EXCEPTIONS

Under no circumstances will Homein DOOR be liable for the following: (a) Failures not reported within the applicable warranty period; (b) Failures or damage due to accidents, abnormal conditions of temperature or moisture, or negligence, abuse or improper installation; (c) Losses, costs, expenses, liabilities, and damages, including but without limitation to, loss of use or profits, damage to persons or property, and all other special or consequential damages, whether direct or indirect. (d) Any costs etc. incurred from finishing or hanging of a known defective product.

 
 

TOLERANCES

  1. Size tolerance: Nominal thickness, height and width ± 1/16”, prefit width ± 1/32”.
  2. Squareness tolerance: diagonal measurement difference shall not exceed1/8”.
  3. Factory hardware preparation tolerance: A plus 1/32” minus 0” will be allowed for all hardware preps.
  4. Stile, rail and core show‐through (photographing) on flush doors shall not be considered a defect unless the faces of the door vary from a true plane more than 1/100” in any 3” span.
  5. Warp shall not be considered a defect unless it exceeds 1/4” in the plane of the door itself. For doors 1‐3/4” or thicker, warp shall not exceed 1/4” in doors 3/6 x 7/0 or smaller, nor shall it exceed 1/4” in any 3/6 x 7/0 section of larger doors.  For doors less than 1‐3/4” thick, warp shall not exceed 1/4’ in doors    3/0 x 7/0 or smaller.
“Warp” is any distortion in the door itself and does not refer to the relationship of the door to the frame or jamb in which it is hung. The term “warp” shall include bow, cup and twist. In measuring the amount   of warp present in a door, the following method shall be used; bow, cup and twist shall be measured by placing a straight edge, taut wire or string on the suspected concave face of the door at any angle (i.e., horizontally, vertically, diagonally) with the door in its installed position. The measurement of the bow, cup and twist shall be made at the point of maximum distance between the bottom of the straight edge, taut wire or string and the face of the door.
Homein shall have the option to allow any warped or photographing doors to “hang” one (1) full year after date of claim, in order that they may “acclimate” to their interior environment.
 
 

ADDITIONAL EXCLUSIONS

  1. There is no warranty of the appearance of field finished doors or factory primed doors.
  2. Natural variations in the color, grain and or texture of wood are notdefects.
  3. The warranty against warp does not apply to the following
    1. Doors 1‐3/8” thick which are wider than 3/0 or higher than 7/0
    2. Any door with face veneers of different species on each side.
    3. Any door that is hung improperly or does not swing freely, i.e. binding on hinges, dragging on frame or threshold.
    4. Any door that has different finish options on each side.
    5. Any door that is not hung with equivalent climate control of temperature and humidity on both sides of the door.
  4. This warranty does not cover:
    1. Flush doors with cutouts for lights and/or louvers, nearer than 5” to any edge of the door.
    2. Flush doors with cutout areas exceeding 40% of the area of the face of the door or exceeding 1/2 the height of the door except GT series.
    3. All doors having less than 5” between cutouts for lights, unit locks, closers and/or other hardware cutouts except GT series which only requires a 2” minimum distance between.
    4. Interior GT series door over 8‐0 with full glass cutouts.
    5. Any delamination caused by failure to protect and seal all exposed surfaces of the door and the continued proper maintenance of these surfaces.
    6. The appearance of high gloss plastic, paint, or transparent finisheddoors.
    7. Cracking of laminate around light openings cut by others.
    8. Doors 7‐6” and under with less than 3 hinges or pivots and doors over 7‐6” with less than 4 hinges or pivots.
    9. Doors with hardware that is not compatible with a particular door construction.  Surface  closers used as stops without thru‐bolts. Doors with concealed closers, stops, or holders deeper

 
 
than 2” or wider than 1 1/4”, and concealed vertical rod devices, (unless metal reinforcement channels utilized), or any machined pocket that leaves less than ¼” thick cavity wall.
 

  1. Repairs or replacements made without prior written consent frommanufacturer.
  2. Normal wear and tear including wear through of the finish, or doors deteriorating for reasons other
than material and workmanship of the door itself.
  • Door face breakage or flare out on either side of automatic flushbolt preps, when installed without
supplied reinforcement caps.
  1. Failure due to hardware being installed with self‐tapping screws or combination metal/wood screws. All hardware must be attached with appropriate length and size thread‐to‐head wood screws or through bolts.
  2. Failure due to not drilling or drilling improper size pilot holes.
  3. Acoustical doors requiring mortise hardware other than standard locks  and hinges.
  4. Doors altered by others (except for distributors licensed to machine Homein doors).
  5. Fading or darkening of door veneer or finishes due to exposure to ultravioletlight.
  6. Doors subjected to humidity levels less than 25% or more than 55%.
  7. Doors with parallel arm mounted closers require SCL blocking unless through bolted on.
  8. Doors stored longer than 6 months.
  9. Door accessories supplied by Homein
  10. Doors shipped outside the continental 48 states or to areas that subject the doors to abnormal heat or humidity.
  11. Any issues created by failure to follow handling, job finishing and installation instructions.
